Bandidos
Renowned gunman Richard Martin is traveling on a train, held up by Billy Kane, a former student of Martin's. Kane spares Martin, but only after shooting his hands. Years later, Martin meets an escaped convict, wrongly convicted for the train robbery. Martin trains his new student and both men seek out Billy Kane.
Curator's Take
“The debut of Enrico Maria Salerno is a masterclass in tension. A master gunman trains a young protégé. The standout feature is the cinematography, it looks crisp and modern, years ahead of its peers.”
Why This Movie Is Important
A visually spectacular film that deserves more recognition for its cinematography and direction. It focuses intensely on the mentor-student relationship, a core theme of the genre, but treats it with a seriousness and visual grandeur that rivals Leone. It is a hidden gem for those looking for the 'classic' Spaghetti feel beyond the famous titles.
